I have had a busy couple of months and there have been a lot of changes going on in my life and that has meant that I’ve had to put a couple projects on the back burner for a bit. But I’m all moved into a new place, enrolled to start back up at school in a few weeks, and I finally have some time to come back to this lovely little space here!! It’s also now officially spooky season, which is my absolute favourite time of year, so keep an eye out for lots of cozy and spooky reads headed your way in the next little while!
I’m so excited to be back, and I thought that there was no better way to jump in than to share my TBR for teatimelit’s theatreathon! I am definitely going to cheat a little bit and I picked some books that cover multiple categories, but I will reevaluate after I have finished my TBR and see if I can add a couple of extras!
I hope that you’re having a lovely day! One big thing that I have been working on is reading with intention: paying more attention to what I’m reading, how I’m reading, and what I’m then recommending to customers in store. In order to do this I’ve set the following goals to help guide me in the right direction of becoming a better reader, bookseller, and person over the course of 2021.
Greetings from the night shift, my name is Taylor and I have loved pretty much everything to do with books for as long as I can remember. My life is peppered with memories punctuated with the book I was reading at the time. I still remember the first book that I stayed up until sunrise reading because I HAD to finish it, and countless times being busted trying to read by holding my book up to the hallway nightlight. Books have been my refuge when I have felt alone, and no matter what I was feeling, I’ve always found something to read that has an answer for me.
Reading is something that is really important and personal to me, however it is also something that has allowed me to connect with others and I have gained many friends through a shared love of reading. Especially now that I have the privilege of working in a bookstore and can share my love and enthusiasm for reading with others almost every day.
Over the course of this past year I have been slowly getting into the practice of not only reading a book and moving on, but thinking more critically about what I consume. So this blog is a space for me to share my thoughts on books, reading, and sharing recommendations.
Thank you for joining me, I think that this is going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to share my love of reading with you all!
